Springer on saanut ongelmat ratkaistua, ja etäkäyttö toimii taas.

MOT Proofing -kielentarkistuspalvelun tilaus lakkautettu
Kirjasto on säästösyistä lakkauttanut MOT Proofing -kielentarkistuspalvelun tilaamisen menneessä vuodenvaihteessa (https://ueflibrary.wordpress.com/2016/02/02/muutoksia-kirjaston-kokoelmissa-2016/ ). Jostain syystä palveluntarjoaja on pitänyt sen meille kuitenkin auki näihin päiviin saakka.
Eri MOT-palvelujen käyttöasteen seuranta ja tarpeen arviointi on vaikeaa, koska palveluntuottaja ei erittele käyttöä millään tavoin (paljonko käytetään sanakirjoja, paljonko muita osiota).
MOT-palvelut ovat osa kansallisen elektronisen kirjaston FinELibin tilaajakonsortiota, ja seuraava mahdollisuus liittyä konsortioon on näillä näkymin tuleva vuodenvaihde. Selvittelemme yliopiston osallistumista konsortioon saamamme palaute ja taloudellinen tilanteemme huomioon ottaen.

Oxford Reference Online: hakuteoksia / reference works
Kuka on Kunda? Mitä tarkoittaa HWUDB? Mikä on alta? Vastaukset selviävät Oxford University Pressin julkaisemasta hakuteoskokoelmasta Oxford Reference Online Premium. Premium-kokoelma sisältää yli 200 sanakirjaa ja muita hakuteoksia lukuisilta tieteenaloilta (eri painokset mukaan lukien nimekkeitä on lähes 300). Kirjasto on vastikään hankkinut kokoelman yliopiston käyttöön. Premium-kokoelma on viety Nelli-portaaliin nimellä Oxford Reference Online Premium Collection. Nimekkeittäin kokoelman julkaisut löytyvät myös Josku-tietokannasta sekä UEF-Finna-hakupalvelusta.

Who is Kunda? What does HWUDB mean? What is alta? Answers could be checked from the reference work collection called Oxford Reference Online Premium. The Premium Collection offers a huge range of fully-indexed, extensively linked, up to date, and cross-searchable dictionary, language reference, and subject reference works published by Oxford University Press, including detailed information across a broad subject range from titles in the world-renowned Oxford Companions series. The size of the collection is more than 200 titles (almost 300 when counting all editions). Oxford Reference Online Premium Collection can be found on Nelli portal of the University of Eastern Finland Library. All titles with full text links can be found on Josku database as well on UEF-Finna search service.

PressDisplay is now PressReader – read newspapers and magazines around the world
PressReader (formerly known as PressDisplay) provides you unlimited access to more than 5000 newspapers and magazines around the world, from 100+ countries, in 60+ languages, all on your own smartphone, tablet and laptop. Access is open up to 90 days of back issues for each title. Three simultaneous users are allowed.
By registering a free account, you can customize your news feed, take advantage of social sharing, set up email alerts, comment on articles and bookmark them. Browsing, keyword search, instant translation and possibility for listening the text are available without registering.
The PressReader app can be downloaded into your mobile device. If you have downloaded newspapers or magazines to your own device on the university network, you can read them later offline as long as you like. Beside offline reading of downloaded material there is a true anywhere-anytime access called Radiant Access. If you open PressReader app on the university Wi-Fi, the Radiant Access provides you the access to whole PressReader content for 72 hours via your own Internet connection.
HotSpot Map tells you all places in the world PressReader is available. On HotSpots you can use PressReader with your own device via PressReader app, if you are allowed log in the local Wi-Fi as a guest. With a web browser you can anytime and anywhere log into PressReader via Nelli portal of the University of Eastern Finland (please, log in to the remote access first).
