CINAHL on yliopiston käyttöön hankittu kansainvälinen hoitotieteen ja hoitotyön viitetietokanta, joka sisältää myös terveydenhuollon hallintoa ja koulutusta käsittelevää aineistoa. Tietokantaan on linkitetty myös keskeisten hoitotieteellisten lehtien kokotekstiartikkeleita. Nyt CINAHLin laajempi versio CINAHL Complete on yliopistossa koekäytössä. Koekäyttö kestää lokakuun loppuun (31.10.2014) saakka.

CINAHL Complete sisältää viitetiedot 5 312 lehdestä (CINAHL: 3 084 lehdestä), ja kokotekstit 1 359 lehdestä (CINAHL: 70 lehdestä).

CINAHL is a reference tool covering the English language journal literature for nursing and allied health disciplines. Database contains mainly references and also fulltext journal articles. CINAHL is subscribed by university library, and now we have organized a free trial of more extensive version of CINAHL, CINAHL Complete. The trial is open until the end of October (31.10.2014).

The number of journals included in CINAHL Complete is 5,312 (in CINAHL: 3,084), and the number of full-text journals is 1,359 (in CINAHL: 70).

SAGE Premier -lehtikokoelma koekäytössä / Free trial of SAGE Premier journal collection

 

Kirjasto järjestänyt loppuvuotemme iloksi koekäytön SAGEn tieteellisiin lehtiin, vaikka Itä-Suomen yliopistoon on tilauksessa toki jo vanhastaan satakunta SAGEn e-lehteä. Koekäyttöön avattu SAGE Premier -kokoelma sisältää yli 600 lehteä vuodesta 1999 lähtien. Aihealueita ovat mm. kasvatustiede, kulttuurintutkimus, lääke- ja terveystieteet, politiikan tutkimus, psykologia, sosiologia, talous- ja hallintotieteet, uskontotiede ja viestintä. Lehdet on palvelussa selattavissa sekä nimen mukaan että aihealueittain. Lehtiin voit tehdä myös tiedonhakuja.

SAGE Premier on yliopistoyhteisön jäsenten käytettävissä myös yliopiston verkon ulkopuolelta etäkäytön kautta, ja se löytyy koekäytön ajan myös Nelli-portaalista (http://www.nelliportaali.fi/) nimellä SAGE Premier. Koekäyttö kestää vuoden 2014 loppuun saakka.

The library has arranged the free trial of SAGE scientific journals for the rest of the year.  SAGE Premier provides full text access to over 600 journal titles in the SAGE collection. About 100 of them have already been subscribed to the University of Eastern Finland. Full texts are generally available from 1999. Subject areas include Health Sciences, Humanities, Business and Management, Science, Education and Engineering. Journals can be browsed by title and discipline, and also searches can be made.

SAGE Premier is available also via remote access, and can also be found in the Nelli portal (http://www.nelliportaali.fi/) during the trial. The trial is open until the end of the year 2014.

Springer: 40 000 e-kirjaa koekäytössä / The trial of 40,000 eBooks

 

 

Nyt on tiedossa tekemistä kesäksi! Kirjastomme on järjestänyt koekäytön Springerin e-kirjakokoelmiin 5.8.2014 saakka.  Koekäyttö mahdollistaa pääsyn 40 000 e-kirjaan, kirjasarjaan ja yli 280 hakuteokseen. Koekäyttö kattaa Springerin 13 englanninkielistä e-kirjakokoelmaa (ks. lista alla). Kirjat on julkaistu vuosina 2005-2014. Kirjat löytyvät osoitteesta springerlink.com, ja niitä voi käyttää myös etäkäytössä Nelli-portaalin kautta (etsi tietokanta: SpringerLink).

Koekäyttötuloksia / Usage trial results: eBook Academic Collection (EBSCO)

Syys-lokakuussa oli koekäytössämme 120 000 kirjaa sisältävä e-kirjapalvelu eBook Academic Collection (EBSCO). Koekäytön perusteella lupasimme hankkia palvelusta ainakin käytetyimmät e-kirjat pysyvästi kirjastoon.

Käyttötilastot on nyt saatu, ja kirjoja käytettiin kahden kuukauden aikana yhteensä 560 kertaa. Käyttö jakautui 238 kirjanimekkeelle siten, että suurinta osaa luetuista kirjoista luettiin vain kerran.

Hankittiinko kaikki luetuimmat e-kirjat? Eipä hankittu kaikkia, koska suurin osa niistä osoittautui olevan meillä jo käytössä Ebrary-palvelun kautta. Kaikkiaan palvelusta ostettiin koekäytön perusteella kymmenkunta e-kirjaa. Käy tutustumassa näihin ja muihinkin EBSCOlta tähän mennessä ostettuihin e-kirjoihin Nellin palvelussa: eBook Collection (EBSCO) -> Highlights -> View All. Kaikki Ebscon e-kirjat löytyvät myös Josku-tietokannasta.

In September and October, the 120,000 book eBook Academic Collection (EBSCO) service was under trial usage at our library. We pledged to permanently acquire the most popular e-books, as determined by the trial run.

The trial results reveal that EBSCO books were accessed 560 times in the two month period and 238 titles were accessed, most of them just one time.

A majority of the most popular books are already available through the Ebrary service, so there was no need to acquire them. All in all, a dozen or so new e-books were added to our selection based on the trial run. You can find these and our other EBSCO e-books on Nelli: eBook Collection (EBSCO) -> Highlights -> View All. All of the EBSCO titles can also be found on the Josku database.
