Totta! Ei ihan omina mutta käytössämme kuitenkin. Kirjasto on sopinut tiedekustantaja Elsevierin kanssa sopimuksen, jonka mukaan olemme saaneet käyttöoikeudet vuoden ajaksi yli 13 000 Elseverin kustantamaan e-kirjaan. E-kirjojen ostoarvo olisi yli 1,5 milj. euroa. Sopimus on eräänlainen vuokraussopimus, jossa vuoden kuluttua lunastamme omiksi vuoden aikana eniten käytetyt e-kirjat vuokra-ajan alussa maksetulla vuokrasummalla. Tämän hankintamallin avulla saamme tarjolle suuren määrän tiedekirjoja, mutta hankimme pysyvästi käyttöön vain ne, jotka osoittautuvat olevan meille tarpeen. Kirjat on saatu käyttöön vuoden 2015 lopulla, ja hankintasatsauksella on pyritty ennakoivasti tasoittamaan kirjojen hankintatarvetta kiristyvien määrärahojen tilanteessa.
Kirjojen ajallinen ilmestymiskate alkaa 1940-luvulta ja ulottuu vuoteen 2015 asti. Tarjolla on e-kirjoja monilta tieteenaloilta. E-kirjojen tiedot ja linkit itse kirjoihin on lisätty Josku-tietokantaan sekä hakupalvelu Finnaan. Lisäksi ne löytyvät Nelli-portaalin kautta Elsevier Books on ScienceDirect -palvelusta, missä kirjoja mahdollista etsiä myös selaamalla eri aihealueita hierarkkisesti. Library has made a contract with a scientific publisher Elsevier for over 13,000 eBooks. The value of the set is more than 1,5 million euros. The contract is one kind of a rental contract, which allows us to use and read rented Elsevier eBooks for a year. After a year we can redeem the most used titles to our own permanent eBook collection for a rental sum paid. With this system can be ensured, that every eBook will be purchased for a need; not just in case.
The time span of eBooks is from 1940’s to the year 2015, and titles represent many disciplines. All titles with full text links can be found on Josku database as well on Finna search service . The service Elsevier Books on ScienceDirect can be found on Nelli portal of the University of Eastern Finland Library, too. On the service interface you can also browse the eBooks hierarchically by subject categories. Straight links to the browsable subject categories are:

Kuopion kampuskirjaston kirjanäyttelyssä on esillä medikalisaatiota eri näkökulmista käsitteleviä kirjoja.
Kirjanäyttelyn kirjat ovat lainattavissa.
Aiheesta on kirjaston kokoelmissa myös e-kirjoja, joista useimmat löytyvät Joskusta.
Kirjaston kokoelmiin hankitut e-kirjat ovat käytettävissä yliopiston ja Kuopion yliopistollisen sairaalan (KYS) verkoissa ilman kirjautumista tai etäkäytön kautta (sallittu vain Itä-Suomen yliopiston opiskelijoille ja henkilökunnalle sekä KYSin henkilöstölle).

There are also e-books on the subject in the library’s collections and nearly all of the e-books can be found in the Josku database.
E-books are available without a login in the university network as well as in the Kuopio University Hospital (KUH) network or via remote access connection (only available to UEF students and staff as well as KUH staff).

Kirjasto on hankkinut kokoelmiinsa taas lukuisia sähköisiä ensyklopedioita ja käsikirjoja monilta tieteenaloilta. E-hakuteokset on hankittu Wileyltä ja SAGElta, ja suoraan kustantajilta hankittuina niillä on rajaton yhtäaikaisten käyttäjien määrä. Erilliset lukuohjelmat voit unohtaa: kaikki ovat käytettävissä suoraan nettiselaimessa. Lista hakuteoksista suorine linkkeineen on alla. Hankitut teokset löytyvät myös Josku-tietokannasta.

The library has acquired several electronic encyclopedias and handbooks from different disciplines. The e-reference books have been acquired directly from the publishers Wiley and SAGE and thus have an unlimited concurrent user access. In addition, you do not need to worry about any separate reader application: you can read all of them in the web browser. The list of e-reference books with links is below. You can find the acquired books from the Josku database.
You can find more reference books from other publishers as well by searching in the Josku database as in the examples above. You can also use a term that describes the subject matter as the keyword.

Kirjasto on hankkinut yliopiston käyttöön EBSCOn jatkuvasti kasvavan Academic Collection -e-kirjakokoelman. Kokoelma sisältää tällä hetkellä yli 135 000 e-kirjaa monilta tieteenaloilta ja johtavilta yliopisto- ja tiedekustantajilta. Pääaihealuevalikoima on listauksena alla. Kirjoilla on rajaton yhtäaikaisten käyttäjien määrä. Ne ovat luettavissa sekä onlinena selaimessa että ladattavissa eri laitteiden lukuohjelmiin luettaviksi ilman verkkoyhteyttä. Noin puolet kokoelman e-kirjoista on sellaisia, jotka puuttuvat toisesta käytössämme olevasta isosta e-kirjakokoelmasta Ebrarysta.
Kaikkien Academic Collection -kokoelman kirjojen tiedot ja linkit itse kirjoihin on viety Josku-tietokantaan. Lisäksi palvelu löytyy Itä-Suomen yliopiston kirjaston Nelli-portaalista nimellä eBook Academic Collection (EBSCO). Kokoelman kirjojen selaaminen aihealueittain onnistuu palvelun omassa hakuliittymässä siirtymällä ylälaidan eBooks-linkistä eteenpäin.

The growing package of eBook Academic Collection (EBSCO) contains a large selection of multidisciplinary eBook titles representing a broad range of academic subject matter. There are more than 135,000 eBooks in this package at the moment, including titles from leading university presses and other academic publishers. All titles are available with unlimited user access. Books can be both read online on a Web browser and downloaded into a reader program for offline use.
All titles with full text links can be found on Josku database, and the service can be found on Nelli portal of the University of Eastern Finland Library, too. If you would like to browse the collection by Subject categories, open the service interface and press the eBooks button in the top toolbar (yellow area).

Ebrary on käytössämme oleva kansainvälinen e-kirjapalvelu, jossa on luettavissasi yli 110 000 e-kirjaa useilta tieteenaloilta. Linkit kirjoihin löytyvät Josku-tietokannasta. Ebraryn kirjoja voit lukea suoraan nettiselaimessa. Voit myös koota palveluun oman kirjahyllyn ja lisätä kirjoihin omia merkintöjäsi. Lisäksi sinun on mahdollista tulostaa osia kirjoista.
Selainlukuohjelma uudistuu viikolla 39 (22.9. alkava viikko)
Eri toiminnot löytyvät entistä helpommin, ja mikäli haluat ladata kirjan offline-käyttöä varten esim. läppäriin tai tablettiin, ohjelma opastaa tarvitun lukuohjelman valinnassa.
Offline-käytössä käytetyt lukuohjelmat (Adobe Digital Editions ja Bluefire Reader) eivät muutu.

Ebrary is a wide multidisciplinary e-book collection, which provides more than 110,000 e-book titles. You can find links to all ebrary titles on Josku database. Ebrary e-books can be read on a web browser. You can also e.g. create a bookshelf of your own for ebrary titles, add notes and highlight text. Parts of e-books can be printed out, too.
A new ebrary reader will be launched on a week 39 (22.9. onwards)
You will find the most used features faster, and if you want to download an e-book for an offline use e.g. on laptops or mobile devices, reader will guide you to choose the right reader program.
Reader programs used with offline use are same as earlier (Adobe Digital Editions and Bluefire Reader).

Koekäyttö mahdollistaa pääsyn 40 000 e-kirjaan, kirjasarjaan ja yli 280 hakuteokseen. Koekäyttö kattaa Springerin 13 englanninkielistä e-kirjakokoelmaa (ks. lista alla).
